Let Him Order The Steps
Sunday was 65 degrees and sunny. I was looking for an excuse to break the bike out of its prison (the garage).
We needed to meet a friend to pick up some things small enough to fit in a backpack. You already see where I am going with this.
My plan quickly formed in my head to get the bike fired up and get the first ride of the season in.
Long story short, it didn’t start. When I finally got it started and moved it to our cement slab I was out of time. Then we had freezing rain and the bike froze to the ground.
Life is like this; filled with potential disappointments and detours and freezing to the ground moments. God is always teaching, especially in those moments.
We can make the best of plans with good intentions even (not like my self-serving ones for my bike). Ultimately, the Lord orders our steps.
Would we really want it any other way? He is always desiring what’s best for us. He is the only One truly for us!
The next time your plans are thwarted, remember, He is ordering your steps for His glory. Embrace it and “ride” with intention and joy; grateful that He is at work.
