Perfect Love

I have to confess there was a time when I thought the best solution for all my pain and hurt was my success.  Along with that self-help-guided thought came a self-centered life.  It became all about me and my success.  I became someone who was successful and miserable instead of unsuccessful and miserable.  I was still hurt, lacking purpose and empty.

The powerful demonstration of Jesus’ perfect love at the cross continued to work on me until my life began to shift and change.  My desires changed to be what God desired.  I began saying yes to things I never would have previously. I gave my life over to be used fully for the sake of he kingdom and I have not regretted it even for a minute.

I enjoy the love of Christ controlling me.  As a former control freak, I would say God has brought me a long way.  Eagerly, I anticipate how God is going to use me each day to help others Know, Live, and Speak the Truth.

Personal Reflection

Spend some time pondering Romans 5:8.  What kind of love was it that Jesus demonstrated on the cross?  What did any of us do to deserve that kind of love?   What opportunities has God given you to participate in helping others know about this love?  Commit to at least one of those activities this week.

Prayer Focus

Father, we lift to you all of those who do not feel love right now; those that are deceived into thinking they are alone.  Equip us to reach them with the power of Your Word and Truth.  Let our lips and lives be filled with the truth of your gospel.  May your love spill over to all around us and glorify you in the name of Jesus. Amen.
