First of all, that passage, and much of Psalms, the Lord has used to speak to me in the darkest of places. So reading it here was a good reminder of what I needed to do…just spend time thinking and meditating.
I used to be of the mind set as the same person you mentioned in your post. So much trauma and drama in my life.
But God led me to a different place.
What were my struggles in comparison to the rich tapestry of stories included within the Bible? I found solace in reading stories of people like Samson, Ruth, Saul/Paul and Job. I resonated with the apostle John as he first denied Christ, and then followed him hoping for another chance.
You are right.
Steep yourself in the Word. Get your mind off of the things that bring you down and instead focus on what God has already DONE and is DOING as the mighty King.
Thank you.
I think I will spend some extra time soaking in things today, and walking through Psalms.
Blessings
~Heather
