I’ve always been fascinated by science and how things work. When the Lord interrupted my shallow life and revealed His truth, I immediately went into a mode of methodical practicing of the principles in scripture.

And what did I discover? God’s word is true. He is faithful, powerful, and sovereign. He transforms and confirms us to the image of Christ. My faith grew by leaps and bounds as I practiced what God has given us in His word.

I’m not proposing that you put God to the test but instead take Him at His word and do what He has instructed you to do and see what happens.

We have been given the great commission in Matthew 28:18-20. Pay careful attention to the third instruction. “Teach them to OBSERVE all that I have commanded you”. This assumes that you, yourself are doing the command. We have all had teachers who teach not from a place of experience but only knowledge. Don’t be that teacher!

Our Lord was clear, He wants us to Know, Live, and then Speak His word to those around us. We cannot skip the Live step of this equation and think it’s going to go well. Start living His word today!

Reflection

In what ways are acquiring Gods truth but not living it?

Prayer

Father, You have given us your word to be lived out that we may effectively conduct the ministry of reconciliation we now have in Christ. May our hearts delight in Your word and be moved to action. Lead us on in Jesus, Amen!

Make His Works Known

How blessed are we to live in the time period post cross and resurrection? God has revealed His salvation to us clearly through His word, Jesus Christ. We know the truth that Jesus became sin on our behalf that we might become the righteousness of God.

This news is not only good news but life changing. He is worthy of non stop thanksgiving for rescuing us from sin and ourselves as well as all of His provision daily!
It’s time to let these mighty works be known. Remember we are to know, live, and SPEAK the truth. I’m not suggesting you lock your friends in a room and hit them over the head with a Bible. I’m talking about you, sharing your God stories with them.

Personal Reflection

People are living in a disappointing world looking for a life of hope. They may have already tried religion but don’t know what it is to have a relationship with Him. Take the time to invest in someone today, tomorrow, and the next day. They need someone who cares enough to take the time to help them know, live, and speak the Truth. Disciple them so they are ready to disciple another.

Write out your salvation story how how God rescued you. No story is boring. If you grew up in a Christian home and believed when you were little, praise God that He protected you!

Write down as many answered prayers, stories of God’s provision, and protection that you can remember. Share these to encourage others.

Prayer Focus

Father, help us to see all that you have done for us; all your mighty works! Give us opportunities to share these stories with those around us to encourage them. Give us the boldness to share even from the toughest of times when you were holding us up. Let out testimonies bring you honor and glory forever. Thank you fort our precious Son Jesus. In His Name we pray, Amen.

4 Actions to Enjoy the Lord

As I read through Psalm 119 today, God revealed a pattern of Christian living. There are 4 actions that are mentioned over and over again: Seek, Meditate, Keep, and Speak. Four simple words but for some reason not easy for us to do.
The object of these actions include God Himself, His Word, His Law, His Testimonies, His Commandments, His precepts, and His Understanding to name a few. As I read I was convicted. Do I actively Seek, Meditate, Keep, and Speak of these things? Am I diligently drawing closer to my Lord and Savior with my whole heart?

This Psalm beautifully discusses that results of these actions also. They include Delight, Understanding, Reverence, Steadfastness, and Praise. Totally worth the investment, right?

Reflection

I can’t help be think that if we are not doing this actions and enjoying the results that we are missing a huge part of our relationship with Christ.

May you delight in the Lord today and all He has done for you. Seek, meditate, keep and speak of Him and all His Word says today!

Prayer

LORD, help us to desire the results so much that these actions would be a joy. May your love fill us and spill over to all we come in contact with. We praise you today, in Jesus’ name, Amen!
