It’s so easy to let the cares of this world keep us from thinking from an eternal perspective regarding our mission here.  This morning God interrupted my thoughts with Revelation 22. 

We do know that our Savior is coming back and He is bringing with Him the reward!  The fruit of our lives will be evident to all.  Those that have placed their trust in Jesus and His finished work at the cross will live with Him in paradise.  Those that have tried to fake trust or disregarded Him will be separated from Him for eternity. 

Reflection

We must not let worldly impulses control our thoughts and actions.  The more we truly love Christ the less likely we are to be caught in the snares of this world.  Let’s keep our eyes on Jesus!

What are you doing to invest in your relationship with Him?

Reading, praying serving? How are you seeing Him move in your life on a daily basis?

Prayer

Gracious God, what an awesome God you are!  The more we love you the more we have joy and obedience!   Thank You Jesus, that You have overcome the world; that nothing is impossible with You!  Give us the sincere desire to spend time investing in our relationship with You.  For You are the answer to every question in our lives.  We love you..Amen!

We must make sure that the fuel for your ministry isn’t just your strength or skill.  Knowledge of the Father’s love and the eternal comfort He has given us is like and endless supply of food and water as we minister in the desert. 

I love the phrase “good hope”.  There are many choices for the objects of our hope. I hope that snow only falls on grass.  Somehow it never does.  I hoped the Packers would win. Where did that get me?  The hope we have in our salvation, through Christ,  cannot be compared with any earthly hope.  For it is always good and results is righteousness. It is a hope that never disappoints but instead is always increasing faith, more hope, and love.  We have that hope because of God’s marvelous grace.  Remember this was given to us while we were yet sinners(Rom. 5:8 NASB). How much more hope do we have now that we are children of God and see His goodness!

One other quick observation: Paul prays for hearts to be comforted and strengthened in every good work and word.  The goodness of God should be spurring us on to good words and deeds.  How can we contain the goodness of God?  For it was designed to fill us to overflowing; hat others may be filled to overflowing and so on.  

May your hearts be comforted and strengthened today as you work for Him in word and in deed!

What makes Christ’s intercession so much powerful than any other?  He has conquered death and is not constrained by it like the priests before Him.  He is the perfect sacrifice once and for all eternity!

He lives to make intercession for us. Did you catch that?  He lives as an intercessor for you today, tomorrow and forever!  

Personal Reflection

Meditate on the fact that Christ is not limited in His ability to intercede and that He lives to intercede for you for all eternity.  How does that grow your knowledge of God & Jesus?  The Holy Spirit intercedes in our prayers also. God has given us ALL that we need to live for Him!

Prayer Focus

All providing Father, thank you for your willingness to part with your Son to give Him as a ransom for so many. Thank you Jesus that you were, are, and will always be obedient to the Father in interceding for us. Thank you Holy Spirit for interceding in our prayers.  Help us to Know, Live, and Speak the Truth, be equipped to Love and Serve, and Skilled to make a difference for you!  All of these things we lift in the eternal power of Jesus Christ, Amen!
