Rescue Mission

It’s been a rough couple of days mentally and physically.  Sick children, lack of sleep, car troubles, teenage attitudes, etc.  people sometimes ask, “How do you do it?” And my normal response “sometimes not very well”.  In all seriousness though, I strive to remember that the most important battle in life was already won.

I have been rescued from the domain of darkness.  None of those stressors mentioned above can damage that imperishable gift of God.  When I meditate and focus on this truth, no trouble can be compared.  I find myself rejoicing and praising God for His mighty works and the stress seems to dissolve as I remember His faithfulness!

Personal Reflection

What stressors are most distracting to your focus on Christ?  Here are some things to do to overcome those things:

1. Enlist the help of another believer to help you stay focused under pressure.

2. Feast on God’s  word daily  (more than just this devotional). Dig in deep and gain wisdom.  Meditate on it day and night.

3. Pray to know, live and speak this truth.

Prayer Focus

Gracious God, thank you for rescuing me from darkness and receiving me into your family.  May you bless each reader as we are reminded of the finished work at the cross. Keep our eyes on you and let our walk be blameless. In Jesus Name, Amen!
