How do I go on?

Face it, there are days in this life where we just feel like giving up.  It seems everything is stacked against us.  We feel unloved, unwanted, and worthless.  We look at everything around us and we see failure and brokenness.

If we step back for a minute it totally makes sense why we see it that way.  There’s a simple principle that when we look to man and this world we see depravity and brokenness.  When we look to God we see shalom and righteousness.

As we grow in our walk with Christ, the depth of this grief and brokenness only seems to grow in intensity and frequency.  We must focus our attention to that which is beautiful, lovely, and righteous….only Christ.

If we want joy, and not to be swept away in grief, we must fix our eyes on the author and finisher of our faith.  It is a fight for Joy!  Not a fight to attain it, but a fight to focus on Christ; that we may be reminded of the joy we have in Him.

Reflection

If you are struggling today with the brokenness in you and in the world try this:

1. Stop and remember who you used to be before Christ

2. Submit all that you are to Him and Praise Him for all He has done

3. Remember there are others in need of Him that would like to be where He has brought you.  Love and serve them

May you find your joy in Him today!

Prayer

Gracious God, equip and teach us to fix our eyes on Christ and not let them wander. May we take full gaze into His beautiful majesty. Give us a vision that leads us beyond our situation, onward to Your mission. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
