Faith Forward

As I rounded my final laps on deck 10 aboard our cruise, I was reminded of the reality of challenges waiting for us at home. We have spent hours training and strategizing for something that is not fully known or seen.

I stopped to gaze at the water from the front of the ship.  I could see no shore in sight.  I would have to trust our captain; that he knows where we are going and will lead us there safely.

After I pondered this deep thought, I came to the back of the boat and saw a wake in the water that stretched to the horizon.

I was reminded that it’s easy to have faith backward but God wants us to have Faith Forward. Not by what is seen but by what is unseen.

He wants us to look back and see the impact of His faithfulness that has left a wake of blessing in our lives and give Him praise. He also wants us to trust Him for our destination and forge ahead into shark-infested waters, confidently knowing that He will preserve us.

We have a lot of unknowns in our future…may we have faith forward.
