Do you go to church?

image

While in flight recently a thought struck me.  Why do we ask people where they “go to” church when scripture clearly teaches we are the church?

Could it be that we are afraid to be the church?  After all, it’s easier to ask someone to go to church than to feel the rejection personally

Could it be that we don’t think we are qualified?  If we get them to church, then the real holy person (the pastor) can take over and we don’t have to worry about messing it up

Could it be that our priorities are messed up?  We have filled our bellies so much with the comforts of this life that perhaps we have become desensitized to those around us who are suffering and perishing?

Going to church implies that the church is external to us.  How is that possible when our bodies are “a temple” and the Holy Spirit dwells “in” us?  We are the church that is being sanctified by the Word of Truth. Let’s live like it today.

Stop going to church and start being the church…

  1. I very much like that as when I was in church I always felt not quit good enough to be there. My pastor at the time helped me feel like.

  2. Have been challenged by your teaching of God’s Word. Looking forward to the next couple months!
